PDO Thread Lifting

At Begone Skin & Body, we offer PDO thread lifting using Matrix Mono Threads.

PDO THREAD LIFTING

Thread Lifting

PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses a dissolvable suture to tighten and lift your skin. It’s a non surgical option, which is becoming increasingly more sought after and costs a lot less too. The risks associated with this treatment are minimal and has long lasting results. Treatments in clinic can take 45-60 minutes on average.

The threads are made of Polydioxanone (PDO), which is basically a biodegradable polyester suture. As we use a compounded numbing cream, this procedure has very little discomfort.

What to Expect

A usual treatment entails between 50 – 150 individual threads being used, depending on the area(s) being treated. There is bruising and some swelling post treatment but that is both expected and desired. The trauma from insertion will assist in providing an even better result.

If you can imagine a cross hatching of multiple threads, your body goes into overdrive to heal itself and, over approximately 12 weeks,  forms a matrix of collagen and elastin. After the suture dissolves, what is left is stronger and tighter skin that is better supported.
